While walking from Burswood Park to Optus Stadium by the Swan River is very popular among walkers, you may choose to walk from Burswood Park in the other direction towards South Perth.You will enjoy great views of the Swan River, East Perth foreshore, Heirisson Island, and Perth city centre skyline on the other side of the Swan River. Starting from Burswood Park, you will walk past Charles Paterson Park that is adjacent to Burswood Park, then underneath the Causeway Bridge, then McCallum Park, before arriving at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation complex in the Taylor Reserve.
If you choose to go for a relaxed walk at the Albany Waterfront on Sunday morning, try to make Albany Boatshed Markets the start point and endpoint of your walk.
You can walk from Albany Boatshed Markets in the western direction, past Albany Entertainment Centre, to ANZAC Peace Park, and back to Albany Boatshed Markets and finish with a coffee or a breakfast at the markets.
Alternatively, you can cross over the overhead pedestrian bridge near the Albany Entertainment Centre to Albany city centre to explore the city centre on foot.

Jeff Joseph Reserve is a large reserve on the Applecross foreshore, a 25-minute drive south of Perth CBD.

Deep Water Point Reserve is located along The Esplanade by Canning River in the suburb of Mount Pleasant, a 20-minute drive south of Perth CBD. The popular reserve has lawned picnic areas under majestic trees and BBQ facilities, a boat ramp, a swimming jetty, a nice beach area, accessible parking, toilet facilities, kids’ favourite play spaces, and the crowd-drawing waterfront Dôme Café.
Burswood Park Public Open Space is the open area between Optus Stadium and Crown Towers that was previously Burswood Park Golf Course. The Open Space has 2 distinct areas divided by Camfield Drive.
Point Resolution Reserve is a large reserve with an area of 8.45 hectares in the suburb of Dalkeith and is a 20-minute drive southwest of Perth CBD. You can walk or jog on the sealed walk/job paths around the grassed parkland in the upper part of the Reserve. If you want to get close to the water, you can take the stairs to get down to the lower part of the Reserve to explore the dirt paths and the beach area.
Freshwater Bay is a 20-minute drive southwest of Perth CBD and is about 5 km upstream from the mouth of the Swan River at Fremantle. The foreshore of Freshwater Bay stretches over 4 suburbs from Dalkeith, Claremont, Peppermint Grove, to Mosman Park.
Claremont Foreshore is a 20-minute drive southwest of Perth CDB. The foreshore area is sheltered within the Freshwater Bay on the Swan River and the water here is calm. Claremont Fishing Jetty linking Claremont Foreshore Reserve is an excellent fishing spot.
Mosman Bay Foreshore and Bay View Park are located in the suburb of Mosman Park and are about 30-minute drive west of Perth CBD. Mosman Bay foreshore is very popular for water activities such as swimming and boating because of the calm water, and for picnicking.
