Walk by The Swan River: Swan Regional Riverside Park

Swan Regional Riverside Park

Swan Regional Riverside Park, alongside the Swan River, combines Woodbridge Riverside Park in Woodbridge suburb, Reg Bond Reserve in Viveash suburb, and the John George walk trail that connects Woodbridge Riverside Park and Reg Bond Reserve.

The John George walk trail is a relatively flat sealed dual-use pathway alongside the Swan River for walkers, joggers, cyclists, wheelchairs, and prams.  You may choose to walk on a gravel trail if you want to be right next to the Swan River.  The distance between Woodbridge Riverside Park and Reg Bond Reserve is 2.8km one-way.

Woodbridge Riverside Park

Woodbridge Riverside Park is a popular recreation site for the local community.  A viewing platform on the Swan River, tables, and benches under shady trees make this an attractive picnic area on the Swan River.  This is also a perfect spot to launch a kayak or canoe for a paddle on the river.  Woodbridge Riverside Park and Play Space next to the carpark is especially popular with young families.

Reg Bond Reserve

Reg Bond Reserve, in contrast, is relatively quiet compared to Woodbridge Riverside Park.  The reserve offers peaceful natural beauty further away from busy roads.  Swan Valley vineyards and farmland can be seen on the other side of the Swan River.  Captain Cook Cruises (WA) operates regular Swan Valley Wine Cruises along this section of the Swan River that includes a visit to the Sandalford Winery and stops at the Sandalford Winery jetty not far from the reserve.  While you walk you may see the cruise vessel moving along the river.
