My Living, My Life

Life enjoyment starts from enjoying everyday living, the ordinary things you do every day.

In your everyday living, always try to seek out the source of fun, thrill, excitement, pleasure, and inspiration, and the spirit-uplifting moments.

Consciously try to keep your mind engaged and curious, and learn something new, whether it is a new skill, new knowledge, new idea, new way, a new hobby, new sport, or new experience.

At the same time, slow down to appreciate the things around you – a beautifully-landscaped garden, a cleverly-designed poster or billboard, a uniquely-designed building, or flowers in full bloom.

Life is short.  Life is for enjoyment.  Don’t waste it.  It is up to you.  You control how you live your life.

COVID-19 Living and Life

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, economies around the world have been badly hit due to lockdowns imposed to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

For individuals and families, lockdowns have significant impacts on mental and psychological health, physical health due to lack of physical activities, financial stability due to loss of jobs or work hours, and loss of studies of students.

The social distancing measures put in place to help fight COVID-19 have significantly changed our everyday living and our life in the longer term.

Remote working, video conferencing, online shopping, contactless and digital payment, online and distance learning, and telemedicine are becoming the norm.  We have to make adjustments.  We have to learn new online tools and software to study and work remotely from home.

“COVID-19 Living and Life” are articles about how COVID-19 pandemic situations change our everyday living, how we adapt to the new pandemic normal, and how the lasting impacts of the pandemic will affect us.

Spirit-Uplifting Moments

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” — Maya Angelou, an American poet, and civil rights activist.

We experience smooth and rough times.  We have high and low moments.

We need to be resilient to push us through rough times and low moments.  Understandably, we need to gain as much as possible from the good and the smooth times, and the high and the spirit-uplifting moments.  How?  We think about them.  We talk about them.  We share them with loved ones.  We share them on social media.  We capture them in writing, photographs, and videos, so we will be able to recall them from our memory and to relive them in the future.

“Spirit-Uplifting Moments” are articles about these moments.  It is hoped they will inspire you to capture your own spirit-uplifting moments in your own way.

Sights and Scenes

There are 195 countries in the world today. There are thousands of different cultures, languages, and cuisines.  There are millions of different sights and scenes to see and experience.

What is life without travel?  You will miss the opportunities to enjoy the sights and scenes and to experience the cultures and cuisines.  We should travel to places different from where we live and work to enrich our life experiences.

“Sights and Scenes” are short travel articles about the sights and scenes of places this website owner has visited.  No professional camera but only smartphones are used to take the travel photographs.

Travels and Destinations

Like “Sights and Scenes” articles, “Travels and Destinations” articles are about travel.  Travelling needs not to be an expensive undertaking.  Depending on your priority, it is possible to travel to see more places, more sights, and more scenes while maintaining a tight travel budget.

Travelling on a budget does not necessarily mean backpacking and staying in backpacker hostels.  How best you want to experience a travel destination should decide how you travel.

Try to incorporate the free things to do in your travel itinerary. Not only will you stretch your travel money, but you will also enhance your travel experiences.

Many optimists believe new scientific and technological development will provide solutions to climate change and other environmental issues encountered by our world and the Earth.

“My Dream Technology Breakthrough” are articles about innovations and technologies that are in our dream now but may become a reality in the future.  Our scientists, engineers, technologies, and entrepreneurs will make miracles happen.

Financial Freedom

Generally, what we all want is a life of health, wealth, and happiness.  We build health, wealth, and happiness bit-by-bit, continuously, consistently, cultivating over a long time.  There is no shortcut.

For wealth building or financial wellbeing, the ultimate objective is financial freedom.

This website believes the term financial freedom explains the financial wellbeing objective better than the other terms such as financial independence or early retirement.  Why?  Because financial freedom gives you the freedom to choose what you want to do.

The freedom to choose is very powerful.

You can choose to travel around the world, engage in volunteering work, or spend more time with your loved ones.  Obviously, you can also choose to continue to engage in a structured work routine, like many successful entrepreneurs, investors, business people, artists, and entertainers who have already achieved financial freedom do.

Wealth building is a lifelong project.  There are many pathways to achieve financial freedom.  All the pathways require hard work.  Everyone learns along the way.  Everyone is a learner.

This website believes the understanding and the consistent applications of basic principles of wealth building are critical in the pursuit of financial freedom.

Where are you on this financial freedom journey?

“Financial Freedom” are articles about financial freedom journey and the general wealth building principles everyone supposedly knows but may ignore or overlook in the pursuit of financial freedom.

The articles are not financial planning advice.  The articles are not meant to be any specific financial or investment advice for any reader.  Anyone who needs financial planning advice should seek the services of qualified professional financial planners/advisors.
