Walk by The Swan River: Point Fraser <-> Elizabeth Quay

Within a 5-minute walk from Perth CBD and by the side of Langley Park, the Riverside Drive walk path between Point Fraser and Elizabeth Quay is a popular walking destination for office workers.  Why not?  The Swan River foreshore area is a great place to get away from the office for a very light exercise.

A beautiful sunset view of the Swan River is an added benefit if you choose to walk in the later afternoon.  However, when the weather is cool, you will enjoy walking or jogging any time of the day.

The distance between Point Fraser and Elizabeth Quay is about 2km one-way.

For those who drive, Point Fraser carpark offers 1-hour free parking, so you may park your car here.

Point Fraser

Point Fraser is very well-located on the Swan River foreshore in East Perth.  From here, one can enjoy good views of Heirisson Island and South Perth foreshore across the Swan River.

Point Fraser was developed to be a functional and attractive urban space in the centre of Perth in 2009.

The site features a wetland designed to naturally treat stormwater from nearby urban areas before discharge to the Swan River, a series of pathways and boardwalks, a children’s playground, and public barbecues.

As well, there are entertainment facilities such as bars, restaurants, and cafes.  Unfortunately, many of these entertainment facilities have been vacant.  This scenic part of East Perth is a need for measures and actions to draw in more visitors.

Elizabeth Quay

The $2.6 billion Elizabeth Quay project was no doubt a successful undertaking to revitalise the city centre.  This dynamic entertainment and leisure precinct has integrated Perth city with the Swan River.

Elizabeth Quay has become one of Perth’s most iconic destinations.  Elizabeth Quay’s popularity has enhanced Perth’s reputation as one of the most liveable cities in the world.

Walking on Elizabeth Quay Bridge and around the quay area is such a pleasant experience for tourists and locals alike.  You have so many perfect picture-taking opportunities from every angle.

Elizabeth Quay Bridge is so well-located and well-designed that it offers spectacular views of both the Swan River and the Perth city skyline.
