The Walk

The Sydney Royal Botanic Garden foreshore offers spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, Sydney Opera House, and Harbour Bridge over water.  Notably, Sydney Royal Botanic Garden is located right next to Sydney Opera House.  For visitors coming from Sydney Opera House, the best way to access this beautiful garden is through the gate at Sydney Opera House, one of its 13 entrance gates.

Assuming you enter Sydney Royal Botanic Garden through the gate at Sydney Opera House, taking a walk on the foreshore walking paths in the garden allows you to enjoy the Sydney Harbour water views, landscaped garden views, Sydney city skyline, Sydney Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge, all at the same time.

The one-way distance on the foreshore walking paths from Sydney Opera House to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, a very popular lookout point in the Sydney Royal Botanic Garden, is approximately 1.5 km.
