Walk by the Waters: Lakeside Garden, Singapore

Lakeside Garden

The 60-hectare Lakeside Garden, the western section of the Jurong Lake Gardens, has been developed to preserve the natural beauty and serenity of the area while incorporating spaces that cater to the community’s and recreational needs. Capitalizing on its waterfront location by the man-made Jurong Lake, Lakeside Garden offers spaces for all to enjoy nature, greenery, and stunning lakeside views.

The highlight of Lakeside Garden is a scenic boardwalk over Jurong Lake with views of the water and sunsets, and it is a great location to enjoy jogging, walking, birdwatching, and spotting wildlife such as otter families.

The Walk

Lakeside Garden is a short 5-minute walk from Lakeside Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) Station. To begin your journey, take the waterfront walking trails from Lanchar Bridge in the southeast direction for about 300m to reach the start point of the boardwalk. From there, continue on the boardwalk before returning to the waterfront walking trails, passing Lakeside Field on your way to Wave Plaza.

The distance between Lanchar Bridge and Wave Plaza, via boardwalk, is approximately 1km.

Want to walk a longer distance? Continue on waterfront walking trails in the southern direction or cross the White Rainbow Bridge to walk in the Chinese Garden.

Take a walk in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the hot and humid Singapore weather.
