Dongshan River Ecoark 冬山河森林公園生態綠舟
Located in Dongshan 冬山 Township, Yilan 宜蘭 County, the 16-hectare Dongshan River Ecoark is one of Taiwan’s most creative eco-parks, blending wetlands, forests, waterways, and environmental education into a single experience. The name Ecoark comes from the park’s landmass, which has the shape of an ark and is surrounded by the waters of the Dongshan River and its branch.
The park is designed as a “living” park, a model for sustainable tourism. Visitors get to see migrating birds, diverse wildlife, rice paddy fields, and other local crops.
The park’s highlight is the ecological boat ride through narrow waterways surrounded by dense vegetation, wetlands, and a cave-like tunnel. Besides boat tours, visitors can participate in canoeing and other boat paddling activities.
The riverside cycling and walking trails, bridges, and viewing platforms make the park best for casual walks and family outings.
