Forest Lake is a southwestern suburb of Brisbane in Queensland, with a population of approximately 23,000 people. Forest Lake is only a 25-minute drive away from Brisbane CBD.
Forest Lake is a man-made recreational lake that is the centrepiece of the suburb. The lake is actually quite shallow with an average depth of around 2.6 m. The deepest point is around 4 m.
The Lake Parklands, also known as Forest Lake Park, refer to parklands that surround Forest Lake and cover more than 10 hectares of open space, including pedestrian and cycleways, boardwalks, bridges, playgrounds, public artworks, a 200-seat stage, and a 250-seat amphitheatre. All these features make Forest Lake a wonderful place for a relaxing stroll, a jog, a bicycle ride, or a group outing by the water.
Community activities such as dragon boating, group Yoga, and group Tai Chi Qigong exercises are also held in the Lake Parklands.
The Walk – Brisbane Forest Lake
You may park your car near Forest Lake and walk any distance along the flat, round-the-lake walking paths, or you may join many local residents for their morning or evening 3 km full-circuit walk or jog around the lake, taking in the stunning water views.
