Sorrento Beach, located adjacent to Hillarys Boat Harbour, offers excellent family and group beach outings and swimming in warm summer months

Walk by the Indian Ocean: Sorrento Beach <-> Marmion Beach

West Coast Drive

The 6km West Coast Drive by the Indian Ocean coast stretches from Sorrento Beach in the north to Trigg Beach in the south.

West Coast Drive runs through 5 adjacent coastal suburbs – Sorrento, Marmion, Watermans Bay, North Beach, and Trigg.

Only a 25-minute drive from Perth CBD, the scenic coastal walking paths by West Coast Drive is a popular walking/jogging destination for locals and visitors.  The walking paths are generally on high ground well above sea level thus offering unblocked distant views of the beautiful Indian Ocean, as well as the reef, the coastal rock formations, and beach activities.

The one-way distance between Sorrento Beach and Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club (MAAC) at Marmion Beach is approximately 1.5 km, therefore it is a good distance for a 30-minute walk.

There is ample parking at Sorrento Beach carpark and roadside parking along West Coast Drive.

Sorrento Beach

Sorrento Beach is located directly south of Hillarys Boat Harbour.  The Beach’s turquoise water and pure white sand offers excellent family and group beach outing and swimming.  Hugh crowd usually packs the beach in the summer months.

Marmion Beach

Marmion Beach is just south of Sorrento Beach.  Here, the beach area is not as wide as Sorrento Beach.   The beach-front members-only Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club (MAAC) is located at Marmion Beach.

Feeling energetic and want more?  You may continue walking south towards North Beach and Trigg Beach.  A fit walker or jogger can choose to walk or jog 6 km from Sorrento Beach, past Marmion Beach and North Beach, to Trigg Beach.
