Rose Bay
Rose Bay is an affluent suburb of around 10,000 people in Sydney located 7 km east of the Sydney CBD and on the southern shores of Sydney Harbour. Rose Bay has a ferry stop, Rose Bay Wharf, from Circular Quay, and hence the best way to get from Sydney to Rose Bay without a car is to take a ferry which takes about 12 minutes and costs less than $10. Many Rose Bay residents take a ferry to and from their work offices in the Sydney CBD.
The ferry ride from Circular Quay offers ferry passengers stunning views of Sydney Harbour and picturesque coastal suburbs such as Potts Point, Darling Point, Point Piper, and Rose Bay.
Did you know Rose Bay was once an international airport? It was the site of Australia’s first international airport for seaplanes.
Why not stop by at Rose Bay Wharf and take a relaxing walk on the coastal walkways of this charming suburb, enjoy the views, and have a coffee or lunch break?
The Walk
You may start your walk from Rose Bay Wharf, assuming you arrive from Circular Quay on a ferry.
