Palm Beach Parklands
Palm Beach is a northeast-facing 4 km beach on the Gold Coast between Currumbin Creek in the south and Tallebudgera Creek in the north. Located at the south end of Palm Beach, Palm Beach Parklands is a beautiful open space overlooking Currumbin Creek.
Palm Beach Parklands and the popular Gold Coast surf spot Currumbin Alley is separated by Currumbin Creek. From Palm Beach Parklands, you can see Currumbin Alley on the other side of Currumbin Creek.
Palm Beach Parklands’ beautiful sandy beach sheltered from the Coral Sea by the river shore of Currumbin Creek, the Treasure Island pirate ship theme playground, barbecues, picnic shelter and tables, and disability toilets, change rooms, shower facilities, and Dune Café in the Parklands overlooking the beach make the Parklands a very popular spot for family outings for parents with young kids.
Tarrabora Reserve
Tarrabora Reserve is next to Palm Beach Parklands, and they are connected by walking paths. Like Palm Beach Parklands, Tarrabora Reserve’s sheltered sandy beach from the Coral Sea within Currumbin Creek, picnic shelters and tables, walking paths, and boardwalk in natural bushland make the reserve a popular spot for both locals and visitors.
Beree-Badalla Reserve
Beree-Badalla Reserve is located on the northern bank of Currumbin Creek further inland from the Coral Sea and is very close to Tarrabora Reserve. The 2 reserves are on different sides of the Gold Coast Highway Estuary Bridge connected by riverbank walking paths underneath the Estuary Bridge.
Beree-Badalla Reserve features a boardwalk that runs through the mangroves along Currumbin Creek. The boardwalk has sheltered viewing platforms and benches for visitors to enjoy the views of Currumbin Creek and the shoreline on the other side of Currumbin Creek. The boardwalk finishes at Thrower Drive Boat Ramp.
Beree-Badalla Reserve is distinctly different from Palm Beach Parklands and Tarrabora Reserve which features beautiful sheltered sandy beaches for swimming and beach sports.
While Palm Beach Parklands has its car park, Tarrabora Reserve and Beree-Badalla Reserve have separate car parks underneath the Gold Coast Highway Estuary Bridge. The car park can be accessed via Thrower Drive. There is also a car park at Thrower Drive Boat Ramp.
