Yanchep National Park
Yanchep National Park is a huge 2,799 hectares park, and it is one of Western Australia’s oldest and most popular national parks. It is just a 45-minute drive north of Perth CBD and is therefore considered to be quite accessible.
Wetlands are a key feature of Yanchep National Park, and there are over 400 caves in the park. There are accommodation facilities and campsites, and there is even a nine-hole golf course.

McNess House Visitor Centre
McNess House Visitor Centre, located near Loch McNess, is a one-stop-shop for all information about Yanchep National Park.
You may find out about the walk trails in the park. As well, you may book a cave or aboriginal cultural experience tour, or purchase an annual pass of $22 for Yanchep National Park here.
Loch McNess
Loch McNess is one of the three permanent lakes in the park. The other lakes are Yonderup Lake and Wilgarup Lake.
If you want to have a relaxing walk by the waters, the picnic area by Loch McNess is a good location to go. Walk in the grassed lawns or on the footpaths. You will enjoy the beautiful lake views as you walk. Also, there is a 240m koala boardwalk near Loch McNess that allows you to view up-close one of Australia’s favourite native animals in a natural environment.
If you feel like walking a longer distance, you may try the 2.5km wetlands walk trail that weaves its way around Loch McNess. Take in the natural sights and sounds that surround you as you walk. At the time of writing, part of the walking trail was closed, so check the signboard at the walking trail.
