Maylands foreshore
Maylands foreshore is actually a peninsula surrounded by the Swan River. The flat bitumen walk path connects Tranby Reserve, Clarkson Reserve, and Maylands Foreshore Reserve by the Swan River. The walk from Tranby Reserve to Maylands Foreshore Reserve is roughly 2 kilometres one-way and is a very easy walk by the Swan River.
From Tranby Reserve, you can see Kuljak Island on the other side of the Swan River. Kuljak Island, approximately similar in size as the Heirisson Island, is another great location for a morning or afternoon walk. Check out the blog about Kuljak Island walk.
Check out Samphires while you are at the Clarkson Reserve. These seemingly ordinary salt-tolerant and leafless succulent plants have stems that change colour from green in winter to red, orange, and purple in summer.
If you still feel very energetic, you can continue to walk from Maylands Foreshore Reserve to the nearby Lake Brearley and Lake Bungana.
