Point Heathcote Reserve
Point Heathcote Reserve is where Canning River joins the Swan River to head towards Fremantle and the Indian Ocean.
Starting at Raffles Waterfront Tower, the walking path by the riverbank is flat and offers great unblocked views of Perth city skyline over the river. It is definitely a great destination for walking, jogging, and running by the water.
Continue walking, jogging, or running past by the side of the South of Perth Yacht Club, then by the coastline, and then head up the hill to Goolugatup Heathcote, which is the Heathcote Cultural Precinct. Heathcote Cultural Precinct is where Perth Makers Markets are held. Perth Makers Market actively supports and promotes local handmade makers.
Heath Ledger Memorial Stone
If you admire the Australian actor Heath Ledger’s artistic work and appreciate his contribution to the filming industry, you will be glad to find his memorial stone here with a yin and yang design reflecting his spiritual beliefs.
Also, on higher ground here, you will have better views of the Swan River and Perth city skyline.
The distance between Raffles Waterfront Tower and Heathcote Cultural Precinct is around 1.5 kilometres. On a cool day, it is an easy relaxing walk.
Feeling energised and want to walk more? Continue down from Heathcote Cultural Precinct and head towards Applecross Jetty, and walk on the beach.
