City Beach
City Beach, as its name suggests, is the closest beach to Perth’s city centre. Located at just a 15-minute drive west of Perth CBD, City Beach is so accessible that you can have your morning swim or morning walk there and be in your Perth CBD office by 8 am.
City Beach is a lovely white sandy beach. City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club, which has its clubhouse located at City Beach, has its volunteers patrol the beach in the summer months from October to March.
The adjoining City Beach Park is a popular park for people visiting the beach looking to relax in the soft grassed area under shady trees. The beach volleyball courts, play equipment, picnic tables, barbecue facilities, good public amenities, and over 1000 free parking bays make this place a popular family gathering and beach outing destination.
The beachfront cafes and restaurants with views of the beach and the beautiful Indian Ocean are some of the reasons why City Beach is drawing in locals and visitors.
The Walk
Park your car right next to City Beach Park. Walk on the walking paths and City Beach boardwalk leading to neighbouring Floreat Beach in the northern direction about 500 m away. Enjoy the somewhat relaxed and casual atmosphere here. Or you may go on a beach walk and watch some beach volleyball actions.
