Emu Point
Emu Point is within the suburb of Mount Clarence in Albany, which is a 5-hour drive or 420km southeast of Perth. Located at about 9 km northeast of Albany city centre, Emu Point is a beautiful seaside spot at the channel linking Oyster Harbour and King George Sound.
Emu Point has grassed lawn area for picnics, BBQ, family outings, group gatherings, or just to chill out and relax.
The northern part of Emu Point is within Oyster Harbour. This area is well protected from ocean waves, perfect for safe swimming. There is a swimming jetty built off the nice sandy Oyster Harbour Beach. It is possible to walk in shallow water to the swimming jetty.
Emu Beach is located in the southern part of Emu Point. From here, you have views of King George Sound and the Southern Ocean.
The popular waterfront Emu Point Cafe is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a coffee.
Emu Point Waterfront Walk
The best time to walk at the Emu Point Waterfront is either early morning, late afternoon, or evening. Take a slow and relaxing walk close to the water between Emu Point Boat Ramp and Emu Beach, and enjoy the views of Oyster Harbour to the north, Gull Rock National Park across the channel to the east, and King George Sound to the south. Walk on the Oyster Harbour Beach and Emu Beach if you want. The one-way distance between Emu Point Boat Ramp and Emu Beach is approximately 1 km.
