Walk by the Water: Lake Monger, Perth

Lake Monger and Lake Monger Reserve

Located less than 5km from Perth City and being very accessible, Lake Monger Reserve is quite well visited by tourists and locals living nearby.

Lake Monger Reserve consists of Lake Monger and the surrounding parklands.

The reserve has a well-connected path network.  There is an overhead pedestrian walk bridge connecting the reserve to Leederville suburb over Mitchell Freeway.  People living in the suburbs of the Leederville, Wembley, and Glendalough can walk to Lake Monger Reserve.  There are also plenty of car parking facilities within the reserve.

The flat 3.8km shared walking/cycling path around Lake Monger is popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists.

There is active birdlife around Lake Monger.  It is common to see a huge gathering of birds on the south side of the lake.

The 2 gazebos built on the lake are good rest points and lookout points to enjoy the lake view.   The gazebo on the north side of the lake has lookout binoculars for good views of Perth City.

Want to have a coffee after your walk?  The nearest is at the Lake Monger Recreation Club where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and the view of Lake Monger.
