The Walk

Sydney Royal Botanic Garden is located within a short walk from the Sydney CBD.  From Circular Quay or Martin Place in the Sydney CBD, 4 of the 13 Sydney Royal Botanic Garden entrance gates: Government House gate, Conservatorium gate, Palace Garden gate, and Morshead Fountain gate are all within 500m in the eastern direction.  This can be any Sydney CBD office worker’s lunchtime walk.

The 2 small lakes of Sydney Royal Botanic Garden are approximately 500m from the 4 entrance gates.  The 2 small lakes are connected and a small wooden bridge, called Carrick Chambers Bridge, that separates them.

If you have more time, then visit The Calyx – home to one of the largest green walls in the southern hemisphere, and The Fernery, which houses more than 350 species of ferns.  These are the 2 highlights of Sydney Royal Botanic Garden.

Take your time to wander around the other different parts of the garden as well, and you will enjoy tranquility and greenery so close to the busy and quick-paced Sydney CBD.
