Walking or jogging by the river bank between Point Walter Reserve and Attadale Reserve is an enjoyable experience. You are just next to the Swan River, feel the cool breeze, see the people enjoying water sports, and have views of the Dalkeith, Mosman Park and Peppermint Cove foreshores, and Perth city skyline on the opposite sides of the Swan River. The flat walking path by the river bank connecting the two reserves is about 2.5km one way.
Point Walter Reserve
Point Walter Reserve offers idyllic views of the Swan River. From the riverbank of Point Walter and across the Swan River, you have views of Dalkeith foreshore to the north, Peppermint Cove and Mosman Park foreshores to the west on the opposite side of the river.
The unique feature of Point Walter is the large sandbar extending out into the Swan River from the west side of Point Walter. When the tide is low, you can walk on the sandbar as far out as 250m into the Swan River.
Point Walter Reserve is a popular location for water activities such as paddleboard, kitesurfing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and, swimming. Point Walter Jetty and the area around the sandbar are popular locations for fishing.
Dog walkers need to be aware dogs are not allowed in Point Walter Reserve. Dog walkers will need to head to Attadale Reserve, which has a huge open area for dog walking and exercise.
Attadale Reserve
Attadale Reserve is on the Swan River foreshore and offers great views of the Swan River, and notably views of Perth city skyline 10km away across the widest section of the Swan River.
Attadale Reserve has a huge open field popular for dog exercise and walking.
