Walk by The Swan River: Bayswater Foreshore

Bayswater Foreshore

Bayswater foreshore area that includes the adjacent Bayswater Riverside Gardens, A P Hinds Reserve, and the Baigup Wetlands is a great destination for walking, jogging, and running by the Swan River.  Bayswater foreshore area is just 8 km northeast of the Perth CBD.  Therefore, it is very accessible for people living close to Perth city centre.

Bayswater Riverside Gardens

Bayswater Riverside Gardens is a huge reserve with an open grassed field suitable for family picnics, dog walking, community events, and other outdoor activities.

The dog beach is the favourite destination for dog walkers and their dogs.  From here, you will have a good view of Ascot Racecourse just across the Swan River and the Perth city skyline.

The gazebo lookout is a perfect spot to rest, watch the dogs playing on the dog beach, and enjoy the cool Swan River breeze.

You can walk by the Swan River bank, on the open grassed field or if you enjoy bird watching, visit the Eric Singleton Bird Park.

Eric Singleton Bird Park

The Eric Singleton Bird Park was a successful rehabilitation project to improve water quality, create a healthier wetland, and deliver cleaner water into the Swan River.

A P Hinds Reserve and Sea Sports Clubs

Bayswater Sea Scouts, Bayswater Paddlesports Club, Perth College Rowing, and ANA Rowing Club maintain their boatsheds at the A P Hinds Reserve.  Therefore, you often spot rowers rowing or training for competition on the Swan River near the boatsheds.

Baigup Wetlands

Continue walking under the Garratt Road Bridge, and you will be on a walking path in the Baigup Wetlands.  The walking path in the Baigup Wetlands is about 1 km one-way, so gauge how far you would like to walk.
